Located in Lewisham, Melhem Civil started this project with the demolition of a two-storey brick commercial warehouse. Further excavation of 4 basements was then undertaken to a maximum depth of 14.5 meters, and because of the high strength rock contained within the site, specialised hammering attachments needed to be fitted to all excavators. Due to the depth of the excavation pit, it was essential that the basement excavator “haul fed” the final remaining loads to another excavator located at ground level. Ultimately Melhem Civil’s highly skilled operators were required for precision and coordination of the excavation works.
