Works on this Hurstville project involved demolition of single storey commercial warehouse and brick house together with the excavation of 4 basements to a depth of 13 meters. Due to the site being located on the boundary of the rail line, Melhem Civil needed to use a non-coventional shoring system. Instead of using temporary soil anchors along the boundary, additional bored piles were require to “shore” the contigous piles. The excavation works also required our team to use small excavators for working in tight spaces with limited height clearance.
